I post a lot of random and dumb stuff on Instagram, but a few weeks ago, I made a great decision. I asked people what the best slippers were and I was flooded with options. I should know better that people are passionate about loungewear. It’s part of the reason this website was born. But I figured that it wouldn’t be kind of me to not share the incredible information I was given.
Since we are deep in the winter months, it’s the perfect time to assess your foot coverings at home and see if you need something new.
The Best Slippers for Cozy Feet
Uggs
This were the number one suggestion for the best slippers. Truthfully, I read a few articles about the not-so-great practices of this company and while you could probably make the same argument for so many fashion brands, I don’t know that I’ll circle back to the Ugg brand ever. That said, I got multiple comments about how people didn’t want to admit these were their favorites but they absolutely love these slippers. You decide.
Haflinger clogs
Not many slippers claim to “enhance your life” right on the website, but the Haflinger clogs say just that. These modern, slip-on clogs were recommended by a few of my friends that I trust to share items that are more expensive but that will last years and years. These wool slippers look amazing and very warm and if I lived somewhere that got really cold, these would probably be my choice.
Bombas
I absolutely love Bombas socks. I would argue that they are better than Stance socks. But the slippers are pretty much just a different version of socks. If you’re looking for something that you just slip on to keep your feet extra toasty during the winter months, I know a few people that would vouch for these. I prefer slippers to have some support since I wear them all day in my apartment.
Minnetonka moccasin
I love the idea of supporting a Minnesota business and Minnetonka Moccasins makes some great shoes. The slipper options are great. There were a few people that said these are the only ones they were ever purchase again. The slippers are adorable and the company does great things. Definitely a great option.
glerups (the best slippers for future me)
These will most likely be my future slippers of choice. The reviews were incredible and I had both male and female friends recommend these. These wool clogs were created by a Danish women a few decades ago and they have become a popular option for many Europeans that deal with cold, dark winters like we do. I love the story behind the company and they look incredible, but I want to make sure I can try them on and with the Omicron strain spreading like wildfire, a trip to a store or the mall just doesn’t seem like an appealing option.
toms (the best slippers for current me)
This was the winner for me right now. I knew I could order Toms online because I’ve had great luck with their shoes and slippers in the past and didn’t need to try them on. I ordered them using the Rakuten link and got double cash back. I’ve been wearing them for about two weeks now and they are super comfortable, they keep my feet warm, and have even been good when I use the standing desk for a few hours.
honorable mentions
There were a few others that were mentioned by one or two people via Instagram. Tevas were one option, but I can’t get past the fact that they look like jackets for your feet. I think it would be too much for inside our apartment. Another option was Birkenstocks, which I swear by for summertime, but I feel like I would easily forget that I’m wearing house shoes and they would quickly become outside shoes. And last, but not least, a friend recommend the Vermont Country Store slippers. I have visited this magical world of flannel and purchased both pajamas pants and a blanket, but I have no personal experience with the slippers.
